CICLO É UM CICLO É UM CICLO É UM CICLO is a collaborative project developed by curator Thamyres Vm and artist Ambuá, taking place on November 9th in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

Two years after our first editorial cycle was published on Boca A Boca (our online editorial project), the research group of this cycle expands its scope by proposing an on-site manifestation in Belo Horizonte, introducing additional layers and perceptive resonances, where the passage of time and its traces shape the poetics of our food commons and its imaginable horizons.

Comprising artworks and interventions by Ambuá, the exhibition revolves around the material cycles of urban spaces, which, through their mutations and transformations, reveal the tensions and contradictions inherent in the very idea of the city. For Ambuá, all matter longs to return to earth, "the iron’s desire is to rust, the brick’s desire is for the building to collapse […] the city conspires against the cycle of materials, which in turn conspire against the city."

Within this flow, disrupted organic cycles transform not only external landscapes but also internal ones. Plant life in the city, food, and the act of eating serve as starting points for establishing this dialogue and reorienting this transposition.

The 6-hour programme proposes a dilation of time, generating traces, vestiges, and other materialities. Exchanges germinate through performances and a roundtable discussion, creating a space for rumination alongside an invitation to metamorphosis.

The event is free and open to the public.
